The church who is the reflection of Jesus, the fullness of God, ought to be guided and moved by the mind of Christ, the will of God, within the culture—ahead of the culture. When we react to, our agendas dictated by the culture, we have created religion and are deserving of all the railings against us. But to see beyond, before and above, we are not constrained by sociological insights or political ideals. We can see beyond, before and above because we have been raised with Christ under whom God has placed all things. The power that is available to us in our weakness is incomprehensible. Sure, this God, “who by the power at work in us, is able to accomplish abundantly far more than we can ask or imagine” (Eph 3:20)—still, why do we lack any imagination? Lord, “show us the things that are binding the work you have forth [in Aurora, IL]. Help us to loose YOUR work and let it go in resurrection power!” (Celtic Book of Daily Prayer, Meditation, Day 15)
